Job Title: -Lead, Systems Engineering - -Surface and Airborne AcousticJob Code: 17339Job Location: Goleta, CA or Herndon, VASchedule: 9/80 - -Job Description: Reporting to the Systems Center of Excellence Lead, this person is responsible for the management and leadership of technical programs out of Valencia, CA office. - This individual is responsible for overseeing the full system/product development life cycle. -Essential Functions:

• Provides technical project management and leadership for Surface and Airborne Acoustic Systems activities.
• Supports engineering execution within the business area (cost, schedule, technical)
• Ensures readiness for design reviews within business area.
• Ensures engineering initiatives are adopted within the business area.
• Acts as an advisor to technical staff members to help resolve technical, operational, or schedule problems
• Partners with key functional leaders in addressing cross-functional process interdependencies. Documents objectives, cross-functional intersections, execution steps and escalation protocols
• Leads new product development and technical innovation
• Supports Segment System Engineering in process improvement, performance and quality metrics, training and new initiative rollout.
• Drives detailed IRAD planning, monthly status, and change process
• Engineering POC for IRAD accomplishments, issues, highlights, weekly status within the business area
• Supports new business pursuits and proposal cost reviews to ensure proper technology readiness, Design to Cost and resource alignment
• Supports and reviews engineering estimates and proposal inputs
• Advocates for continuous learning and provides development through training, cross-training and mentoring
• Be responsible for developing, monitoring, and controlling technical aspects of programs to schedules and budgets and act as an advisor to technical staff members to resolve issues.
• Serve as a Control Account Manager over large segments of major programs -Qualifications: -
  • Bachelor's Degree and minimum 9 years of prior relevant experience,
  • or Graduate Degree and a minimum of 7 years of prior related experience,
  • or in lieu of a degree, minimum of 13 years of prior related experience.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. DoD Security Clearance.
  • In-depth knowledge of project management and systems engineering philosophies
  • Manages large, complex project initiatives of substantial importance to the organization with minimal oversight or direction.
  • Communicates within and outside of the organization to explain and influence changes to practices, processes and approaches.
  • Provides input into new products/processes and implements operational plans that have measurable impact on business or functional results.
  • Familiarity with cost-based accounting systems. - Ability to perform financial analysis of projects and cost estimating. Experience working as a Control Account Manager.
  • Ability to travel up to 25%. -Preferred Additional Skills:

  • Familiarity with maritime products and undersea acoustics

  • Excellent communication skills (written, verbal, & presentation)In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role is $122,500 - $227,500. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
