size.Position Summary: We are seeking an experienced Enterprise IT
Platform Architect to provide strategic direction, guidance, and
definition of IT Platform architecture in support of [Insert
Company Name]'s IT and business strategy. The ideal candidate will
possess deep expertise across multiple specialized architecture
domains and will play a pivotal role in aligning technology
strategy with business goals.Key Responsibilities:
- Architectural Leadership: Provide direction, guidance, and
definition of IT Platform architecture to effectively support the
company's IT and business strategy.
- Championing Initiatives: Support all architectural disciplines
and champion architectural initiatives across the
organization.
- Process Improvement: Review existing business processes,
establish metrics for improvement, and support architectural
disciplines to drive efficiency.
- Complex Project Management: Lead and work on highly complex
projects requiring in-depth knowledge across multiple architecture
domains.
- Strategy Alignment: Ensure the alignment of architecture
strategy with the company's business goals.
- Technology Advocacy: Define, explain, and advocate for the
company's technology strategy.
- Policy Development: Develop and communicate architectural
policies, standards, guidelines, and procedures to ensure
consistent implementation.
- Enterprise Architecture Promotion: Promote the Enterprise
Architecture (EA) process, outcomes, and results to the
organization and senior leadership.
- Architectural Requirements: Review, analyze, and develop
architectural requirements as needed, ensuring conceptual
completeness of technical solutions.
- Team Leadership: Lead and mentor teams in developing technology
plans that align with enterprise architecture.
- Project Consultation: Collaborate with project teams to ensure
projects align with enterprise architecture, and identify when
modifications are necessary.
- Business Relevance: Ensure recommendations are based on
business relevance, appropriate timing, and deployment
feasibility.
- Collaboration: Work closely with project management and IT
leaders to ensure progress towards architectural alignment with
project goals and requirements.
- GIS Tools Expertise (Preferred): Experience with Esri's GIS
tools and platform is highly desirable.Qualifications:
- Experience in technical, substantive and methodological issues
related to design architecture for new or emerging solutions and
technologies.
- Experience in defining enterprise metadata standards and an
enterprise taxonomy.
- Experience with various aspects of enterprise architecture with
knowledge of one or more formalized frameworks such as NASCIO,
TOGAF, FEAF.
- Experience applying application/software/systems development
methodologies including agile approaches.
- IT and business/industry work experience including architecture
design and deployment, systems lifecycle management, and
infrastructure planning.
- Experience with Esri's GIS tools and platforms.
- Experience in cloud application (Azure/AWS) /GIS
architecture.
- Experience in SaaS (Software as a Service) architecture.
- Competency with XML constructs and schemas. Experience with API
protocols and schemas such as SOAP and REST.
- Partner with architects and other technical team members to
develop roadmaps and strategies to support agency KPIs.
- Create overall application and solution architectures,
component designs, and systems integration and implementations for
a particular business solution.Skills and Competencies:
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Expertise in enterprise IT architecture.
- Experience in leading complex, cross-functional projects.
- Familiarity with Esri's GIS tools and platform
(preferred).
- Ability to develop and implement architectural policies and
standards.
- Strategic thinking with a focus on aligning IT initiatives with
